僕たちどうやって家事分担してるっけ？／How do we share housework?
さっき、食洗機をかけました。その時、ふと思ったんです。「僕とトムってどうやって家事分担をしているかな？」って。気になったので、一度書き出してみることにしました。僕たちの家事分担はこんな感じです。
I just turned on a dishwasher. And I wondered how we share our housework. So I decided to write it down here. This is how we share our housework.
食器洗い／Washing dishes
食器洗いは、僕。理由は、僕の方がトムちゃんより寝るのが遅くて、トムちゃんが寝た後に何かを食べることが多いから。寝る前に使った食器を食洗機に入れて食洗機をかける。うちの食洗機では、グラスやマグカップはきれいに洗えないことが多くて、自分が使うグラスやマグカップはそれぞれ手洗いしています。
I turn on a dishwasher because I go to bed later than Tom, and usually eat something after he goes to bed. I put dishes I used in a dishwasher and turn on the dishwasher before going to bed. Also, we wash glasses and mugs by hand because they often won’t be clean in a dishwasher.
洗濯／Laundry
洗濯は、各自。お互い好きな時に自分の服を洗ってる。それぞれ1週間に1度ぐらいの頻度で洗っているかな。干すのも各自。たまに、自分の洗濯物を干したいのに、相手の服が洗濯干しスタンドに干してある時があって、そういう時は、相手の洗濯物を畳んであげたり、あげなかったり。この文章を書いているときにトムちゃんがスタンドに干してあった僕の服を畳んでくれたことを思い出したので、ありがとうのメッセージをしました笑。
We do laundry separately at our own timing about once a week. We hang them separately as well. Occasionally when either of us would like to hang our clothes, the other one’s clothes are hung on a drying rack. For those occasions, we fold the other one’s clothes. Or we don’t. It depends. As I am writing this, I remember that Tom folded my clothes that were on the rack. I just sent him a message to thank him.
料理／Cooking
料理は朝食と昼食は各自。夕食は交代。朝食と昼食のタイミングがそれぞれ違うし、食べたいものを違うので、各自にしています。夕食は2人の時間を大切にしたいのと、お互いの料理の負担を減らすために、交互に作っています。月曜日から木曜日までそれぞれが2回ずつ作って、金曜日は外食することが多いです。土曜日も夜は外食。日曜日の夜は各自適当に料理しています。
We cook breakfast and lunch separately. We take turns cooking dinner. We cook breakfast and lunch separately because we eat different things at different times. We take turns cooking dinner because we would like to spend evenings together and reduce the burden of cooking. Each of us cooks twice a week from Monday to Thursday, and we usually go out for dinner on Friday. We also usually go out for dinner on Saturday. We separately fix a light meal for dinner on Sunday.
食品の買い物／Grocery shopping
食品の買い物は、オンラインアカウントを共有していて、期日までにお互いが必要なものをカートに入れるようにしています。毎週末に配達してもらっています。
We buy groceries online. We share an online grocery shopping account and separately add things we need to a cart. We receive a delivery every weekend.
掃除／Cleaning
掃除は、週末に一緒に30分ぐらいしています。トムが掃除機をかけて、僕がお風呂掃除をすることが多いです。でも特に決まっているわけではなくて、気分でそうなっています。キッチンの流し、コンロ周りは、使った人がきれいにするようにしています。
We clean our place together on the weekend for about half an hour. Although we haven’t really decided our roles on cleaning our house, Tom usually vacuums and I clean the bathroom. Whoever usees the kitchen cleans the kitchen.
ゴミ捨て／Taking out the trash
ゴミ捨ては、生ゴミやゴミ箱に溜まったゴミは、いっぱいになったら、都度外にあるゴミ箱に捨てるようにしています。特に誰が捨てるかは決めていません。個人宛に届いた宅配便の箱や個人で食べた物や飲み物が入っていた空き瓶やペットボトルは、各自で外出するときなどに外のゴミ箱に捨てています。
We take out the trash whenever the rubbish bins become full. We haven’t really decided who takes out the trash. We are separately in charge of taking out empty carbon boxes used for deliveries and empty cans and plastic bottles that had food and drinks that were personally consumed.
まとめ／Summary
こうやってみると、僕とトムの場合、ほとんどの家事は各自でその都度やっているのかな。でも、正直、細かい掃除など、トータルではトムの方が気づいて家事をやってくれている気がします。今日も、食品の配達があったけど、僕は寝ていたので、トムちゃんが受け取って冷蔵庫に入れてくれていました。僕が書いている内容で合っているかトムちゃんにも聞いてみます。間違ってたら追記しますね。
It seems that we do most of our housework separately. But honestly, it feels Tom cleans our house more often and to the details, and does more housework in total. Today, Tom received our food delivery and put them in a fridge while I was asleep. I should ask him if what I write down here is correct. If not, I will write additionally.
