今日は在宅勤務だったのですが、お昼休みになるとトムが笑顔で僕のところに来て、”Happy Valentine’s Day”とバラの花束とチョコレートをくれました涙。
I was working from home today. On my lunch break, Tom came closer to me and gave me a bunch of roses and a box of chocolate, saying “Happy Valentine’s Day!”.
ずっと遠距離恋愛をしていたので、最後にバレンタインを一緒に過ごしたのはなんと2017年。実に5年ぶり、2回目のバレンタインでした。
We only spent Valentine’s Day together once in 2017 since we were in a long-distance relationship. Today was our second Valentine’s Day together after five years.
今、このブログを書いていて思い出したのですが、今朝トムに「打ち合わせは何時に終わる？」と何回か聞かれました。僕たちの家はリビングとキッチンが繋がっているのですが、今日僕はリビングで働いていました。なので僕はてっきり「トムはキッチンで料理をしたいんだな」と思い「もう少し時間がかかりそうだから料理していいよ！」と答えました。ああ！違ったんだ！花束とチョコレートを渡そうとしてたんだ。
As I am writing this, I just realized that he was constantly asking me what time I would finish my meeting this morning. Since I was working in the living room which was connected to the kitchen, I thought he was waiting for me to finish the meeting to cook his lunch. So I told him he could cook while I was in the meeting. Now I see he was waiting for a moment to give me the flowers and chocolate!!
はあ。本当に優しい人だなあ。これから毎年一緒にバレンタインを過ごせると思うと幸せな気持ちでいっぱいです。
He’s the sweetest person. I feel filled with happiness because I know I will get to spend every Valentine’s Day with him in the future.
